KARACHI- The Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has sought Deputy Commissioner (DC) South’s help, in order to eliminate the stray dogs and cats from within the premises of their health facility.

Executive Director, JPMC, Dr. Seemin Jamali, addressed DC South in an official letter, stating their problem of stray animal infestation, and that they have reached out Cantonment Board officials too but, no action has been taken yet.

She requested for help in eliminating the stray dogs and cats, as they have become a source of perpetual risk and menace, and is not safe for both, medical staff and patients.

A recent case was also disclosed by the hospital officials, where a herd of stray dogs attacked a House officer, Dr. Kanwal and bit her arm and legs,  near 96 Doctor’s Mess.

As these stray dogs and cats are seen roaming around hospital wards and other nearby areas, it poses serious risk.
