Man dies of Congo fever in Karachi

KARACHI- A man suffering from Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) died at private hospital of the city last Saturday.

The victim of CCHF was identified as 38-year-old Sabir, son of Majeed. He was a resident of Cattle Colony, Landhi.

Sources said that the patient when bought to the hospital had high fever and mouth bleeding which confirmed that he was infected with the Congo virus.

Director Health Karachi Dr Zafar Ejaz confirmed the death of the patient from Congo fever in a private hospital.  

It may be pointed out that Congo is a deadly viral disease which is spread through a tick-bite found on animals, and people dealing with dairy farming and livestock are most likely to catch the disease.
