Mayhem in hospitals as YDA Sindh continues protest

KARACHI-Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh recently continued their one-hour token OPD-Out Patient Department strike throughout Sindh province against poor state of Sindh government-run healthcare facilities.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards raised slogans.


YDA chapters in Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur and Nawabshah also observed one-hour token strike. The protesters demanded for early release of notification about stipend of PostGraduates-PGs and arrears of house-officers.


Vice-President YDA Sindh, Dr Waris Ali Jakhrani, said that YDA Sindh has been observing token OPD strike in Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and other hospitals of province against poor state of affairs in government-run hospitals in the province.


Dr Waris demanded for the availability of all medicines in hospitals to cater poor patients. He also demanded the repairance and functionality of CT scan and MRI machines. He urged the government to  enhance the  stipend of PGs, recruitment on dental surgeons’ seats, and release of all arrears of house officers.


He said one-hour token OPD strike would be continued till fulfillment of their charter of demands.
