Quetta, Pakistan: At least 6 six children had died many are suffering from a measles outbreak in at least 3 districts in Balochistan in the last few days.. The provincial Deputy Coordinated of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) Dr. Ishaq Panezai confirmed the report however further claims that they are unable to proceed in the area for immunization as it is no-go area. He said there is rIsk for more cases to surface if the imminization is not resumed in the effected area.

Further, Dr. Panezai also informed that the government has stopped the funding of the immunization campaign since 2013. Since then, about 30 women have been affected by the disease. According to a health survey of 2012 – 2013, only 16% of children are immunized against nine diseases. While measles remain highly contagious, experts suggests that governments focus us more on the anti-polio campaign.
