NICVD’s Cardiovascular Facility Successfully Operating in Mithi

National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases ‘s cardiac facility in Mithi, Tharparkar, known as Shams ul Arfeen Memon Cardiac Center, has been running smoothly, saving various patients’ lives each day.


Both visiting and admitted patients have spoken highly of this healthcare facility, praising their services. Patient attendants at NICVD told a news source that this facility was indeed a blessing from the Government of Sindh. A former patient of NICVD Mithi, praised the doctors and staff for their quick diagnosis and services, irrespective of your status. He compared the facility with other private setups and pointed out a well established and equipped emergency ward.


This center consists of multiple wards with 55 beds to accommodate patients and a 12 bedded emergency ward, with 24x7 cardiac emergency facilities, adult and pediatric cardiology services, echocardiography services, coronary artery  angioplasty facilities and angiography services.


According to Mr. Bharat Kumar, the Administrator of NICVD, the center at Mithi received a total number of 937 patients, over a span of 3 weeks. The procedures performed were 52 angiographies and 18 angioplasty surgeries. The patients were discharged after recovery. He also added that, NICVD’s vision was based upon providing quality care to patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases.


NICVD has also established six other cardiac satellite centers in Larkana, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Sehwan, Sukkur and Nawabshah.
