Karachi: All Nursing Students of Lyari General and Korangi Hospital Karachi on Monday staged protests against the biased standards of Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) officials with, outside Karachi Press Club.

The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with different slogans such as ‘Go Nighat Durrani Go’, ‘Stop injustice with nursing students’, ‘Re-conducting test is unfair’, among many others.

The protesters said that PNC Registrar had adopted double standard against nursing students of Sindh province, an act that has put the future of hundreds of students at stake. They said re-conducting additional tests for nursing diploma-holding students is sheer injustice.

They said PNC Registrar Nighat Durrani has been occupying the post since 22 years and no significant development has been done in the field during her tenure. They said nursing students are deliberately being deprived of their rightful nursing licenses despite having diplomas.

They demanded the authorities concerned to immediately dismiss Registrar PNC Nighat Durrani and issue licenses to diploma holder students.
