MN Report

Karachi: The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine of Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) has once again developed some technical fault, causing immense difficulties to patients, it was reliably learnt.

An official of the CHK’s Radiology department said that MRI machine of the hospital has once again developed some technical fault. Earlier, the same machine had developed a similar fault about two years ago and was made operational only a couple of months back, he added.

He said the patients avail the facility of MRI free of cost at the CHK. However, when the MRI machine has gone out of order, patients requiring MRI have no choice but to get this test done at private hospitals at exorbitant rates.

CHK’s medical superintendent Prof Dr M Saeed Qureshi, when contacted, said that MRI machine’s new electronic card will be fixed within a week and patients will start availing the facility anytime soon.
