PHARM-D Commencement Day Held at Ziauddin University

KARACHI- The Ziauddin University (ZU) Faculty of Pharmacy, hosted the Commencement Day of Pharm.D (Batch – XV) 2019, for 100 new coming students at Ziauddin University.

Chief Guest, Chairman Brooks Pharma, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, congratulated the newcomers and their parents for entering this field. He mentioned about Pakistan being a country that is rich in resources and urged the students to work harder in order to achieve their goals, whilst serving humanity.

Guest of Honor, Dr Khalid Mahmood, Technical Director Bayer Pakistan, informed everyone regarding the status of Pharmaceutical business in Pakistan. He added that we have 759 national and international pharmaceutical companies that are providing 3.1 billion industry businesses to our economy, with an 11% annual growing rate of pharmaceutical companies.

Furthermore, he advised all the students to set an objective and maintain professionalism to achieve success in the future.

Whilst addressing  the students and parents, Prof.Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor, Ziauddin University, stated that “Unluckily, we have 25 million children who have never visited schools and this number is continuously increasing with each passing day. 46 % students are college dropouts,” He made the students realized that they were blessed to have received education and are about to continue studying in one of the biggest universities of Pakistan. He gave all the credit of their success to their parents.

In his welcoming address, Advisor to Chancellor, Prof.Dr Anwar Ejaz Baig, congratulated the 15th batch of Pharm.D and wished them good luck in becoming experts in the field of pharmacy, while upholding the name of this university.
