KARACHI- Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) appreciated the Government of Sindh for presenting a bill on prioritizing and facilitating emergency treatment amongst injured people, without any charge at private and government-run health facilities.
Secretary General, Pakistan Medical Association (PMA Centre), Dr SM Qaisar Sajjad, acknowledged the efforts made by Sindh Government, adding that this legislation will definitely help the critically injured persons visiting the Emergency department.
Dr Qaisar Sajjad urged the Government officials and Health officers to implement this law as soon as possible.
He also requested the Government to extend its medico legal services towards private hospitals and establish its accessory units in at least four private hospitals, covering every district of Karachi.
Moreover, the attendants accompanying the injured should not be subjected to any sort of harassment from the hospital staff.
Dr Qaisar strongly urged the representatives of Federal Government to implement this law in every hospital of Pakistan through the Health Care Commission of each province.
