KARACHI: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) salutes the doctors, nurses, and paramedics who are serving the nation in this difficult time. They are on the front line in the war against the coronavirus because their lives are at risk.
In the current situation, they are examining the patients at the cost of their lives; even their families are at risk. The PMA requests all paramedics and doctors to follow all the preventive measures as per the WHO guideline. The PMA advised against examining the coronavirus positive patients without personal protection equipment (PPE).
The PMA appreciates the Sindh Government for establishing the Field Isolation Center at the Expo Centre Karachi. The Pakistan Medical Association, Pakistan Army, Aga Khan University Hospital, Essa Lab, A.O Clinic, and other volunteers are also working day and night at the Field Isolation Center, Karachi.
Confirmed coronavirus cases will be admitted at the Field Isolation Center with the approval of the doctor’s authority at the center. After the decision to support the Sindh Government for the establishment of the Field Isolation Center by the Executive Committee of the PMA Karachi, the PMA helped the government as its national responsibility for controlling the coronavirus in the province of Sindh.
The PMA urged people to stay at home, avoid going out unnecessarily, avoid gathering in crowds, washing their hands regularly, and adopting all the preventive measures that have been requested by healthcare professionals.
