It is pertinent to mention here that President Dr Arif Alvi had earlier promulgated an ordinance dissolving the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and establishing the PMC.
The notification stated, "In exercise of powers conferred by subsection (1) of section 10 of Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) Act 2020, the Prime Minister of Pakistan is pleased to appoint the following members of National Medical and Dental Academic Board for a period of three years with immediate effect."
