POB Fundraiser in Karachi

Karachi: The Board Members & Trustees of Prevention of Blindness Trust (POB) Karachi organized a fund raiser in collaboration with Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) and Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) at a local hotel.

Prevention of Blindness Trust was established in July, 2007 as a leading volunteer eye care organization with the sole mission of preventing blindness and preserving sight. POB Trust endeavors to develop strategies for prevention and control of blindness and visual impairment. The prime objective of POB Trust is to promote and sustain a global campaign against all forms of avoidable blindness with emphasis on deprived communities. This initiative brings with it a great challenge and an exciting hope for all who work towards this goal.

The ceremony was well attended and philanthropists whole heartedly supported the Trust and donated generously to the cause. The guest of honour on the occasion was Zahid Saeed Chairman KATI with many distinguished personalities including renowned doctors attended the event.

The fundraiser was arranged by POB in line with the establishment of POB Eye Hospital Karachi Phase-II. The eye care hospital was officially launched in May 2015 with basic facilities but latest equipment. The OPD is operating daily and at an average 300 Cataract surgeries are performed each month.
