Prof. Dr Nizam ul Hasan loses life to COVID-19

KARACHI: Founder, Child AID Association (CAA) and former Director, National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Prof. Dr Nizam ul Hasan, has passed away due to COVID-19.

The members and staff of the Child Aid Association expressed deep and heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family.

The funeral prayers for Prof. Nizam Ul Hasan were held in DHA Phase-8 at Karachi. The Director, NICH, Prof. Dr Jamal Raza, doctors, and other staff members attended his funeral prayers.

The NICH sources noted that Prof. Dr Nizam Ul Hasan was ill for the past several days and tested positive for COVID-19. His wife is also suffering from COVID.

In Pakistan, 134 healthcare professionals have lost their lives in the war against the coronavirus across Pakistan to date, out of which 110 were doctors and 24 were others. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 49 doctors in Punjab, 35 in Sindh, 19 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5 in Balochistan, and one each in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
