Second Regional Blood Transfusion Center, To Be Inaugurated in Jamshoro

KARACHI- The inauguration ceremony of second Regional Blood Transfusion Centre (RBTC), Jamshoro would be held on May 13, 2018. Secretary Health  Sindh, Dr. Fazalullah  Pechuho is noted to be the Chief Guest of the ceremony. The German Ambassador to Pakistan, Consulate General of Germany, Country Head of German Bank, Sectary Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA),  Dr. Zahid Ansari and others health officials will be participating in the inaugural ceremony.

The Regional Blood Transfusion Centre Jamshoro would be made operational under public private partnership, and will be run by Indus Hospital Karachi under an agreement with Sindh Health Department.

RBTC, Jamshoro, was constructed with financial and technical support of German Government about 2 years ago. The center is now well equipped with blood processing, screening, testing, component preparation and storage facilities.

Secretary, SBTA ,  Dr. Zahid Ansari, informed that, RBTC Jamshoro would be linked with seven hospital-based blood banks (HBBBs), with a storage capacity of 50,000 blood bags.

Furthermore, he added that RBTC Sukkur was successfully running; while RBTC Karachi and Nawabshah would be made operational within a month’s time.
