Services of Prof Ganatra lauded

KARACHI – Plastic Surgery department of Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) organized a farewell party in honour of its outgoing head, prominent Plastic Surgeon Prof Muhammad Ashraf Ganatra, at the hospital’s OT Complex.

Renowned Plastic Surgeon Dr Tahir Sheikh was chief guest on the occasion while those who attended the ceremony included Prof Qamar, Dr Alamgir Shah, Dr Iqbal, Dr Ehmer-Al-Ibran, Dr Asad Awan, Chief Nursing Superintendent Josphan, staff nurses and paramedical staff.

Lauding the services rendered by Prof Ashraf Ganatra, speakers said that he was an expert in cleft lips and cleft palate surgeries and it was because of his expertise he attended various training workshops held in Thailand, Taiwan, USA and Brazil.  Moreover, he was actively involved in holding camps in rural Sindh where 3,200 patients were operated during the last nine years, they added.

Prof Ashraf Ganatra in his brief speech said: “I have selflessly served the people during my 30 year service and I am proud of it”. On this occasion, he underscored the need for producing more plastic surgeons to serve the people in the interior Sindh.

Later, traditional Sindhi ajark was presented to Prof Ashraf Ganatra.
