SHCC conducts training of trainers

KARACHI: The Sindh Health Care Commission’s (SHCC) Directorate of Clinical Governance & Training recently organized a “train the trainer” session on Sindh Service Delivery Standards (SSDS) at Darul Sehat Hospital.

This training will be attended by the SHCC’s inspection team and medical experts. The objective is to train the experts in the field on SSDS so as they disseminate the information further. The Directorate of Clinical Governance & Training will start training on SSDS at the Darul Sehat Hospital, and this training will focus on areas such as quality control, infection control, and prevention.

The anti-quackery drive has been ongoing in the different districts of the Sindh province including Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Thatta, Khairpur, and Sanghar.  About 101 Health Care Establishments (HCEs) and a total of 1205 clinics have been sealed across the province so far.

The Directorate of Licensing & Accreditation SHCC has received 263 new applications for registration. Certificates were issued to 116 HCEs recently bringing the total number of registration certificates issued to 4992.

The Directorate of Complaint of the SHCC has received 72 complaints till date out of which 43 charges were disposed of, 25 complaints are under processing, while 4 are sub-judice.

CEO, SHCC, Dr Minhaj Qidwai, recently attended a coordination meeting organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and ensured that the SHCC would be represented in the sub-committees as per its function.

At this occasion, Saeed Awan, Secretary Health, Sindh, reiterated the role of the SHCC and stressed the importance of strengthening the SHCC as a regulatory body in Sindh.

Director Complaint, SHCC, Dr Amir Hussain, and Barrister Sadia Qureshi of the SHCC attended one-day training of government officials on community issues.

This training was arranged by the Initiator Human Development Foundation (IHDF) and focused on the social issues of women and children.
