SHCC to Register Karachi’s Health Facilities

KARACHI- Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) in collaboration with Health Department Sindh completed their initial homework to register health facilities of Karachi city.

Director Health Services Karachi, Dr. Tahir Aziz Sheikh, conducted a high level meeting between Sindh Health Care Commission and Health Services Karachi, where District Health Officers, Town Health Officers, representatives of Lady Health Workers and SHCC devised strategies to register healthcare facilities across the city.
After a detailed discussion, the Health Department Sindh and SHCC carried out the initial work to register private hospitals, clinics, laboratories, maternity homes, homeopathic clinics, herbalists and other facilities. DHOs and THOs, alongside the SHCC teams helped with the registration process throughout Karachi.

Dr. Tahir Sheikh further added that, DHOs, and THOs have expressed reservation over the entire registration procedure and demanded for a proper role in registration process of healthcare establishments.

Another meeting took place between representatives of SHCC and Health Department on April 30, 2018, devising final strategies for registrations.
