SIUT Convocation '18, 300 students received degrees

KARACHI- The Annual Convocation of Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) was recently held, where over 300 candidates got awarded with degrees in various disciplines of medical sciences.

The candidates included PhDs, Bachelors of Sciences in Nursing, and Postgraduates in the fields of medical sciences, and other allied fields.

Visiting Professor from Harvard Medical School, Dr Francis Delmonico was invited as the honorable Chief Guest for the evening, whereas, Dr Nancy Ascher from University of California, was the Guest of honor.

Director SIUT, Prof. Adib Rizvi, welcomed all the graduating students and other guests to Sindh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), which functions under the banner of SIUT, and was established around 31 years ago. It successfully provides free education to those who are desirous of obtaining education in medical sciences.

Both visiting and SIUT medical professors congratulated the graduates on their achievements. The graduates expressed feelings of honour at being a part of such an esteemed institution. The teachers hoped that these graduates would serve their patients with compassion and utmost dedication, bringing glory to SIUT’s name.

Whilst addressing the convocation, prominent Journalist and Board Member of SIUT, Ms Zubeda Mustafa also appreciated the efforts of SIUT and congratulated all the graduates.

The educational programs offered at SIUT include postgraduate studies for doctors, biomedical ethicists; there was also a School of Nursing, School of Medical Technologists, and Center for Human Genetics and Molecular Medicine.
