Karachi: Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) has paid glowing tributes to late Comrade Sobho Gianchandani the well known political activist, writer lawyer and a graduate of Shanti Naketan.

In a condolence message to the members of bereaved family the SIUT described his death as loss of a true friend of the institution. The message said late Sobho always endorsed the philosophy of SIUT as the philosophy of serving the under privileged masses with dignity and honor was dear to him as well as to the SIUT. Recalling the valuable services of late leader, the SIUT said Sobho Gianchandani never compromised on matters of principles while his love for Pakistan and the province of Sindh was equally unflinching. He supported the creation of Pakistan and paid price for the crimes which never committed.

Professor Adib-ul-Hasan Rizvi Director of SIUT in his message of condolence described late Sobho as a towering personality who remained steadfast and refused all deals to set him free in prison or leave the country and province.

Professor Rizvi recalled that in September 2013 the great political activist and also a humanist inaugurated the pathological laboratory which was dedicated in the memory of Dr. Tanveer Abbasi at SIUT Chhablani Medical Centre of Sukkur. He donated a token amount of Rs 500 from his meager resources but appealed to the community at large to donate generously for the activities of SIUT.
