YDA Demands for An Anti-Quackery Vigilance Body

LAHORE: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) of Pakistan, demanded the concerned authorities to form an ‘Anti-quackery vigilance committee,’ covering all the districts of the country, to eradicate the act of quackery.


According to a press release, the proposed committee would comprise of a Deputy Commissioner, DPO, District Prosecutor, various heads of doctors’ organisations, and other relevant departments. This committee would be responsible to conduct monthly meetings, where their performance could get reviewed, and new strategies could get executed.


The association has requested to form a communication group on a social media platform, in order to ensure regular monitoring.


Secretary, YDA Pakistan, Dr. Salman Kazmi sent an appeal to the Chief Minister, Health Minister and Chief Secretary, to issue directives to the concerned officers, in order to form such a committee, to initiate the anti-quackery drive.
