YDA Punjab to begin OPD strike from 15th June.

Lahore: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab held a convention at Mayo Hospital in Lahore on 12^th June. The forum was attended by doctors from all over Punjab. During the convention, it was announced that YDAP will go on an OPD strike from Monday, 15^th June, 2014.

The strike will proceed and expand in phases. On the first day, one hospital from Lahore and One from surrounding areas will observe the strike. On the second day, one more hospital within Lahore and one from peripheral areas will be added to the strike, and so on.

The Media Secretary of YDAP – Dr. Khurram Shahzad stated that; This way, the patients will be suffering the least, due to this strike. Meanwhile, if the government realizes its responsibility to alleviate the sufferings of the patients, by fulfilling the justified demands of the YDAP, this strike may be called off. The schedule of the strike and names of hospitals will be announced tomorrow.
